Brynhill Golf Club, Vale Of Glamorgan
£995 +VAT

Deep in the heart of rural Glamorgan lies Brynhill Golf Club, a delightful club oozing charm and character that provides a warm welcome to all who pay a visit.

Golf Ball
Brynhill is known as one of the friendliest clubs in Wales and has been entertaining golfers from all round the British Isles for over half a century.

It continues to move with the times though, and the course was re-designed by the legendary Dave Thomas back in the early 1990s to both expand it and keep the layout up to date.

This engaging 18 holer navigates its way around the Vale of Glamorgan with ease and purpose. It provides a pleasing sense of disorientation, and this beautifully manicured parkland course will keep you entertained until the last putt.

Course
Brynhill is a parkland course measuring just over 6,500 yards from the back tees. Set in a valley, the course has been so designed as to use the land upon which it occupies cleverly.

Beginning as it ought to, the 1st hole leaves the comforts of the clubhouse, affording views across the Vale of Glamorgan and drops into the valley below.

The opening par-4 shouldn’t cause too many problems as the fairway would accommodate a 747 and the green is a welcoming bowl-shaped affair.

Golf Ball
The front nine follows the perimeter of the estate and continues the undulating theme beautifully. Raised tees, sunken greens, and vice versa, will test your yardage readings every time. A handful of tricky par-3s and par-4s take you through the first half, up the hillside and back down again – it’s a hilly track and not one for those wanting an easy amble around the Welsh valleys.

Extended in the early 1990s, the layout was changed to incorporate a new plot of land acquired to the west. This now includes the long par-4 11th that winds its way hand in hand with the river to the right and the 12th which swings its way along the valley floor before climbing steeply up the hill to the green resting on top.
