Among the best holes is the long par 4, 11th, its 471 yards played uphill with an approach shot across a pond and bridge and made even more testing by the fact that a driver can rarely be used from the tee.
Favourite hole
It may only be 126 yards from the regular men?s tees but the short par 3, 6th at Forrester Park already has a reputation as a card wrecker and is the hole that most visitors instantly remember. Appropriately for such a short hole it has one of the smallest greens on the layout with steep drop-offs to the front and back. Thick gorse to right and left of the green means that only a very accurate short iron will hit and hold the putting surface. And even when that sanctuary has been reached only a delicate touch with the putter will secure a par or better.
The Clubhouse
The Forrester Park clubhouse is arguably the club?s finest asset. It is a superb, sumptuous building with open log fires and a fantastic atmosphere. The splendid surroundings are matched only by the standard of the cuisine on offer. Everything from the humble early morning bacon roll to finest dining marks the club out as a place to find something a little special.
Verdict
As an all-year-round venue with excellent clubhouse facilities Forrester park takes a lot of beating.
