From 174yards from the new blue tee the view is spectacular and the accommodating green awaits a well struck mid iron. The temptation to thump half a dozen will be overwhelming but as an ex-green-keeper I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s a fabulous hole and one to be savoured by all who play it.

Verdict
You’ll have to excuse the obvious pun but Pleasington is extremely pleasant. The metamorphosis from a seemingly parkland course into one the most picturesque heathland courses I have played. The variation of holes coupled with the quality of greens and views do die for I couldn’t recommend a visit to Pleasington any more.

Local knowledge
From M65 Junction 3 follow signs to Blackburn. Turn right at traffic lights. Follow A674 for 1 mile. Take lane on left signposted to Pleasington Priory and Railway Station. Pleasington Golf Club is located on left hand side, at 400 yards.
