Golf Ball
A true test of golf in the breathtaking Derbyshire countryside.

With the stunning Peak District as the backdrop to this exquisite course you may be mistaken in anticipating a stiff walking test at Chapel-en-le-Frith Golf Club, however that’s not quite the case. The peaks just provide spectacular and beautiful scenery to what is a gentle and rolling parkland course, described by Today’s Golfer as 'One of the top 10 most scenic courses in the country'.

Situated on the valley floor between Chapel-en-le-Frith and Whaley Bridge in Derbyshire the club can be easily accessed from Manchester, Sheffield or Derby. The course offers a variety of challenges designed to examine the ability of golfers of all standards. The beautifully presented greens are immaculate and vary between relatively flat and significantly undulating. The course uses many of the surrounding natural features including lakes, trees and rivers to enhance the superbly designed layout which is regularly used for County matches and championships.

The Course
The Par 72 layout measures 6434 yards and represents a truly magnificent and enjoyable challenge, as the course is set in some of the most breathtaking countryside that you can find anywhere in the UK.

In 2002 the front nine was completely revamped with three new holes added on the edge of the Combs Reservoir increasing the overall yardage of the course.

The 400 yard par 4 fifth presents a true golfing challenge and a classic risk and reward drive. The brave golfer can opt to cut the dogleg by drawing the tee shot over the field and the trees to be left with, if successful, a relatively simple short iron to the green.

Golf Ball
Those who opt for the more prudent route will be faced with a much longer and much tougher approach shot. It is easy to see why it’s rated on the scorecard as the most unforgiving hole on the opening nine. The most attractive hole on the course, and seen by many as the course’s signature hole, is undoubtedly the par 5 eighth. It has the reservoir running along its length and as you play directly down the valley, with the hills rising around you, the views are truly breathtaking.
